Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who visits a sick person in the morning, seventy thousand angels invoke Allah\u2019s Ta\u2018ala mercy for him until the evening, and the one who visits a sick person in the evening, seventy thousand angels invoke Allah\u2019s Ta\u2018ala mercy for him until the morning, and he will receive a garden in Paradise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cOn the Day of Qiyaamah, Allah Ta\u2018ala will say, \u2018O son of Aadam \u00a0(\u2018alaihis salaam)! I fell ill, but you did not visit Me.\u2019 The person will reply, \u2018O Allah Ta\u2018ala, how is it possible for me to visit You when You fall ill whereas You are the Rabb of the worlds? (i.e. You are not like human beings who fall ill).\u2019 Allah Ta\u2018ala will reply, \u2018Do you not know that so-and-so slave of Mine had fallen ill and you did not visit him? Do you not know that had you visited him, you would have surely found Me present?\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who makes a perfect wudhu (i.e. through fulfilling all the sunnah and mustahab acts of wudhu) and sets out to visit his sick Muslim brother with the hope of receiving the rewards for visiting the sick, such a person will be kept a distance of seventy years away from Jahannum.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Jaabir (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cWhen a person goes to visit the sick, he enters into the rahmah (mercy) of Allah Ta\u2018ala. Thereafter, when he sits with the sick person, he is completely immersed in the rahmah (mercy) of Allah Ta\u2018ala.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) narrates that on one occasion, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) enquired from the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum), \u201cWho amongst you is fasting today?\u201d Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied, \u201cI am fasting today.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then enquired, \u201cWho amongst you has visited a sick person today?\u201d Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied, \u201cI have visited a sick person today.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) further enquired, \u201cWhich of you has participated in a janaazah today?\u201d Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied, \u201cI have participated in a janaazah today.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then asked, \u201cWhich of you has fed a poor person today?\u201d Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied, \u201cI have fed a poor person today.\u201d Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who possesses all these qualities will definitely enter Jannah.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
