Hazrat Moulana Inaamul Hasan Kaandhelwi (rahimahullah) once mentioned the following:<\/p>\n

The example of Salaah in relation to the entire deen is like the door of the house\u00a0(i.e.\u00a0by\u00a0entering the door, one will\u00a0enter the entire house).<\/p>\n

Through a person upholding the obligation of salaah in his\u00a0life,\u00a0Allah Ta\u2018ala will grant him\u00a0the taufeeq (special and divine assistance) to practice upon the rest of deen.<\/p>\n

Performing salaah with devotion and concentration and making an effort\u00a0to bring life into one\u2019s\u00a0salaah is extremely important.<\/p>\n

In the Mubaarak Hadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said:<\/p>\n

\u0635\u0644\u0648\u0627 \u0643\u0645\u0627 \u0631\u0623\u064a\u062a\u0645\u0648\u0646\u064a \u0623\u0635\u0644\u064a<\/p>\n

Perform salaah in the manner you see me performing salaah.<\/em><\/p>\n

Through Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) instructing the Sahaabah (and ummah) to perform salaah in the way they see him performing salaah, it is as though he was saying to them, \u201cLet your outer and inner self conform to the way I perform my salaah.”<\/p>\n

Salaah is the practical declaration of the kalimah. In the kalimah, one verbally declares that he\u00a0worships Allah Ta\u2018ala in the manner taught\u00a0by Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), and\u00a0Salaah\u00a0is the practical\u00a0demonstration\u00a0of this\u00a0kalimah (i.e.\u00a0by performing salaah in the manner\u00a0Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) performed his salaah).<\/p>\n

The Ulama have written that instead of one trying to\u00a0treat each evil quality within himself separately, Allah Ta\u2018ala\u00a0has made salaah itself\u00a0an effective cure for removing\u00a0all types of\u00a0evil qualities\u00a0from a person’s life.<\/p>\n

On one occasion, while explaining the manner in which one should encourage people towards performing salaah, Moulana Inaamul Hasan (rahimahullah) mentioned the following:<\/p>\n

Instead of running down a person who does not perform\u00a0salaah, one should adopt a loving and sympathetic\u00a0approach towards the person.<\/p>\n

One should encourage him\u00a0with love and kindness to fulfil\u00a0this obligation which he owes to Allah Ta\u2018ala.<\/p>\n

Salaah is such a valuable bounty that when sending down\u00a0other deeni injunctions, Allah Ta\u2018ala sent the injunction down to the earth with Hazrat Jibreel (\u2018alaihis salaam).<\/p>\n

However, when it came to salaah, then Allah Ta\u2018ala took His Nabi (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) on the journey of mi\u2019raaj, bestowed him with His special closeness, and then honoured him with the gift of salaah.<\/p>\n
