A doctor advised him saying, \u201cTreatment is possible if you are willing to take precautions by making sajdah on a raised wooden plank for five days, rather than upon the bare ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) replied, \u201cI am not prepared for this. I will not perform a single rakaat in this manner. I have heard Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) saying, \u2018A person who intentionally leaves out a single Salaah, he will meet Allah on the Day of Qiyaamah in the condition that Allah will be displeased with him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat Sheikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahimahullah) mentioned regarding the above incident:<\/p>\n<p>It is permissible, in exceptional circumstances, to perform Salaah in the way advised by the doctor and this would not fall under the warning mentioned in the Hadith. However, the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum), due to their devotion to Salaah and due to the importance they showed to the commands of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), the Sahaabi Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) was not prepared to undergo the treatment.
