{"id":26492,"date":"2026-09-01T16:37:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T14:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?p=26492"},"modified":"2026-10-10T16:37:55","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T14:37:55","slug":"drinking-the-milk-and-honey-on-the-occasion-of-miraaj-and-ascending-to-the-heavens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?p=26492","title":{"rendered":"Drinking the Milk and Honey on the Occasion of Mi\u2019raaj and Ascending to the Heavens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21807\" src=\"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/milk3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"566\" height=\"354\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/milk3.jpg 566w, https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/milk3-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 566px) 100vw, 566px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) praised and glorified Allah Ta\u2018ala, Nabi Ebrahim (\u2018alaihis salaam) addressed the other Ambiyaa (\u2018alaihimus salaam) saying:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" dir=\"RTL\" style=\"text-align: center; font-family: 'Traditional Arabic'; font-size: 16pt;\">\u0628\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0641\u0636\u0644\u0643\u0645 \u0645\u062d\u0645\u062f \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>It is on account of these virtues and excellent qualities (for which Rasulullah [sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam] had praised and expressed gratitude to Allah Ta\u2018ala) that Muhammed (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) has surpassed all of you.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thereafter, when Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) came out from Musjid-ul-Aqsa, he was presented with three cups. One contained water, the second contained milk, and the third contained wine. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) chose the cup with the milk and drank the milk. Hazrat Jibreel (\u2018alaihis salaam) then said to him, \u201c(By choosing the milk,) you have chosen the pure and natural deen. If you chose the wine, your ummah would have gone astray, and if you chose the water, your ummah would have drowned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to some narrations, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was also presented with a cup of honey and he also partook from this cup.<\/p>\n<p>After consuming the milk and honey, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) ascended to the heavens, accompanied by Hazrat Jibreel (\u2018alaihis salaam) and other honorable angels. According to some narrations, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) ascended by riding the Buraaq. However, other narrations mention that after Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) came out from Musjid-ul-Aqsa, he ascended to the heavens on a ladder which was studded with precious gems and emeralds.
