Upon the demise of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah), people were overcome by great grief and sorrow. It was the time of jumuah, and there was a person present who was wailing and crying aloud. While he was shouting and crying, he was asking the people to show him the face of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed (rahimahullah) saying, \u201cOh please let me see the face of my Hazrat!\u201d<\/p>\n
This person\u2019s wailing and crying aloud was creating a disturbance in the musjid, thereby making it difficult for people to perform salaah. However, since the people thought that this person was a close associate of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah), they did not stop him from crying aloud, nor did they tell him anything.<\/p>\n
When Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmed Sahaaranpuri (rahimahullah) entered the musjid and saw this person wailing and crying aloud, then Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmed (rahimahullah) immediately reprimanded him for wailing and crying aloud, and explained to him that this is not permissible in the Shariah.<\/p>\n
Thereafter, Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmed (rahimahullah) addressed the people present and said to them, \u201cTake this person away from here! This person is not an attendant of Hazrat Gangohi (rahimahullah), nor does he really have any love for Hazrat (rahimahullah)!\u201d<\/p>\n
The people were quite surprised and wondered how Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmed (rahimahullah) could mention this about such a person who outwardly showed great love and affinity for Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah).<\/p>\n
Later on, it became exposed to the people that this person was actually a bid\u2019ati and was not a close attendant of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah). He was merely putting up an act of wailing and crying, to try to show the people his deep love for Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah) and the great sorrow he was experiencing at the time of Hazrat\u2019s (rahimahullah) demise.<\/p>\n
He was doing all of this with the sinister intention of trying to come close to the body of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah), so that he could rub some type of powder on his face, causing his face to become blackened and disfigured.<\/p>\n
It was his intention that when people will see the face of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi (rahimahullah) becoming dark, then they will have doubts about him. They will then think that the path which he adopted, of speaking out against all bid\u2019ah practices (which the bid\u2019atis were engaged in), was wrong, and the bid\u2019ah practices are actually something that is beloved to Allah Ta\u2018ala. that is why Allah Ta\u2018ala punished him after his demise by disfiguring and darkening his face.<\/p>\n
However, Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmed Sahaaranpuri (rahimahullah) perceived this, and he scolded the person for wailing and crying aloud at the time of the janaazah. Through Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmed (rahimahullah) upholding the teaching of the Shariah and the Sunnah, Allah Ta\u2018ala had made it such that this person\u2019s evil intention, of trying to disfigure the face of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed (rahimahullah), did not materialize.
