Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) had informed his uncle, Abu Taalib, that besides the name of Allah Ta\u2018ala, ants had eaten the entire document on which the oppressive resolution was written. Accordingly, Abu Taalib came to the Quraish and informed them of what Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) had mentioned.<\/p>\n
Abu Taalib then made a proposal saying that if the claim of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was proven to be true, then the disbelievers should cease their persecution. On the contrary, if his claim is proven to be false, then Abu Taalib and the Banu Haashim would hand Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) over to the disbelievers. The disbelievers agreed to this proposal and sent for the document to be brought.<\/p>\n
When the document was brought and the people saw it, then they found that besides the name of Allah Ta\u2018ala, all the other words had really been eaten by ants. Seeing this, they all lowered their heads in shame and embarrassment. In this manner, the oppressive resolution was finally terminated.<\/p>\n
Hence, in the 10th year of prophethood, Abu Taalib and his companions emerged from the valley. Abu Taalib then went to the Haram, held onto the covering of the Holy Ka\u2019bah and made du\u2018aa with his companions saying, \u201cO Allah! Those who oppressed us, severed ties with us, and subjected us to humiliation \u2013 You take revenge from them on our behalf!\u201d<\/p>\n
Abu Taalib also composed some poetry in this regard. One of the verses of his poem is as follows:<\/p>\n

Do you not know that the document was torn apart, and that everything which is displeasing to Allah Ta\u2018ala is destroyed in this manner?<\/em><\/p>\n Haafiz Ibnu Katheer (rahimahullah) mentions, \u201cIt was during this period, when Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and the Banu Haashim were under boycott in the Valley of Abu Taalib, that Abu Taalib composed his famous poetry known as the Qaseedah Laamiyyah.\u201d<\/p>\n In this manner, three years of continuous suffering came to an end, and in the 10th year of prophethood, three years before hijrah, the Muslims emerged from the Valley of Abu Taalib.<\/p>\n (Extracted from Seeratul Mustafa 1\/268)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) had informed his uncle, Abu Taalib, that besides the name of Allah Ta\u2018ala, ants had eaten the entire document on which the oppressive resolution was written.
