The miracle of the halting of the sun occurred in Makkah Mukarramah. When Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) returned from the journey of mi\u2019raaj and informed the Quraish of this journey, they demanded that he inform them of a few specific details of Bayt-ul-Maqdis.<\/p>\n

They also asked him regarding one of their trade caravans which had journeyed to Syria and when it was expected to return to Makkah Mukarramah (as Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) had informed them that he had went to Syria during the mi\u2019raaj).<\/p>\n

Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) answered their question saying, \u201cThe caravan will enter Makkah Mukarramah on Wednesday.\u201d Thereafter, as Wednesday was coming to an end and the sun was about to set, the disbelievers began to make a hue and cry.<\/p>\n

At that moment, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) made du\u2018aa and Allah Ta\u2018ala caused the sun to halt and remain in its place until the caravan entered the city of Makkah Mukarramah. In this manner, Allah Ta\u2018ala showed the people the truthfulness of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam).<\/p>\n
