During this difficult time, Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was among the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) that remained steadfast with Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam).<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) narrates:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was with Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) on the day of Hunain when the muslims began fleeing from the battlefield. However, eighty men from the Muhajireen and the Ansar remained steadfast with Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). We retreated a little for about eighty feet, but we did not turn our backs to the enemy and flee (the battlefield). These were those believers upon whom Allah Ta\u2019ala sent down Sakeenah (tranquillity in the battlefield).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u200bHazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) continues: \u201cRasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was seated on his mule. He was spurring the animal to move forward towards the enemy. His mule became restless and swerved in another direction, causing Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) to slightly move to one side of the saddle. I was concerned about Rasululah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) falling off the animal and thus I said to him, \u2018(O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)), position yourself firmly (on the saddle). May Allah Ta\u2019ala keep you elevated!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u200bRasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said to me, \u2018Give me a handful of sand.\u2019 He then threw it (the sand) towards their faces (the faces of the enemy), and through the sand, Allah Ta\u2019ala caused the eyes of the enemy to be filled with the sand.<\/p>\n<p>Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) asked: \u2018Where are the Muhajireen and the Ansaar?\u2019 I replied: \u2018They are present there (on the battlefield).\u2019 He then said: \u2018Call out to them.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>So I called out to them, and they came forward carrying their swords, flashing in their right hands like stars. Seeing this, the mushrikeen turned their backs and fled (the battlefield).
