I really have a great amount of love for you!\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cConsider well what you are saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the Sahaabi repeated his statement saying, \u201cI really have a great amount of love for you!\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alihi wasallam) again gave him the same response.<\/p>\n<p>After this exchange was repeated for the third time, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said to him, \u201cIf you are true in what you are saying, then be prepared for poverty and trials, because poverty and tests come to those who have great love for me as swiftly as water flows downstream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Note:<\/p>\n<p>It is for this reason that the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) mostly underwent poverty during their lives.
