Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was among the first Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) to embrace Islam. He had embraced Islam around the time when Hazrat Sa\u2019eed bin Zaid and his wife, Hazrat Faatimah bint Khattaab (the sister of Hazrat Umar [radhiyallahu \u2018anhu]) had embraced Islam. (Usdul Ghaabah 3\/381)<\/em><\/p>\n Below is the incident of Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) embracing Islam:<\/p>\n Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was a young lad, grazing the goats belonging to Uqbah bin Abi Mu\u2019ait in the region of Makkah Mukarramah. One day, whilst he was grazing the goats, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) passed by while they were fleeing from the mushrikeen.<\/p>\n Since it was the custom of the Arabs to offer milk to the travellers and the wayfarers, on seeing the goats, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) asked him to offer them some milk.<\/p>\n They said to him, \u201cO youngster! Do you have any milk to offer us?\u201d He replied, \u201cYes, there is milk, however these goats are a trust in my care, and I do not wish to give the milk to you.\u201d<\/p>\n Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then said to him, \u201cBring me a she-goat which has not yet mated (i.e. it does not have any milk).\u201d I thus brought a young she goat to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam).<\/p>\n Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) held the goat before Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then began to pass his blessed hands over its udders while reciting a portion of the Qur\u2019aan Majeed and making dua to Allah Ta\u2018ala to grant milk. As Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) did this, the udders miraculously began to fill with milk.<\/p>\n Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) then brought a hollowed-out rock to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), after which he drew the milk into it, using it as a utensil. After milking the goat, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) all drank from the milk.<\/p>\n Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) commanded the udders of the animal to return to its former condition of not having any milk, and it immediately returned to its former condition.<\/p>\n Upon witnessing this miracle before his eyes, the heart of Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood was overwhelmed with the love of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). After a few days he came to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and accepted Islam.<\/p>\n At the time of accepting Islam, he said to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u201cTeach me those words which you had recited at the time when you milked the animal which did not have milk in its udders.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then passed his blessed hand over his head and said:<\/p>\n \u064a\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0643 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0641\u0625\u0646\u0643 \u063a\u0644\u064a\u0645 \u0645\u0639\u0644\u0645<\/p>\n \u201cMay Allah Ta\u2018ala have mercy on you.
