On the day when Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) embraced Islam, he began to invite people towards Islam. Allah Ta\u2018ala made him the means of many other Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) entering into the fold of Islam. Among them was Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/p>\n

Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) explains:<\/p>\n

I once entered my home and found my aunt (mother\u2019s sister), Su\u2019daa, sitting among the household. My aunt would engage in soothsaying. The moment she saw me, she said:<\/p>\n

\u062b\u0645 \u0628\u0623\u062e\u0631\u0649 \u0643\u064a \u062a\u062a\u0645 \u0639\u0634\u0631\u0627\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u0644\u0642\u064a\u062a \u062e\u064a\u0631\u0627 \u0648\u0648\u0642\u064a\u062a \u0634\u0631\u0627<\/p>\n

Accept glad tidings and congratulations thrice, then thrice more, and then thrice more<\/em><\/p>\n

And then once more to complete ten. You have encountered goodness and have been saved from evil<\/em><\/p>\n

By Allah! You have married an extremely chaste and beautiful woman. You are a virgin and you have married a virgin.<\/em><\/p>\n

I was astonished and perplexed at what my aunt had said, and so I asked her, \u201cO aunt! What are you saying?\u201d She replied by reciting the following couplets:<\/p>\n

Uthmaan! O Uthmaan! O Uthmaan! You have been blessed with beauty and you have been blessed with prestige.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is a Nabi with whom there are clear proofs and signs. The Lord of recompense has deputed him with the truth.<\/em><\/p>\n

The word of Allah is revealed to him, which distinguishes between truth and falsehood. So follow him and do not allow the idols to misguide you.<\/em><\/p>\n

I responded, \u201cO aunt! You are speaking of something which is such that I have never before heard its name in this city. I don\u2019t understand.\u201d Upon this, Su\u2019daa elaborated:<\/p>\n

Muhammed, the son of Abdullah, is the Rasul (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) sent by Allah. He brought the message of Allah, inviting mankind towards Allah. His word is righteousness and piety, his deen is one of success and his affair is one of salvation. Calls and shouts made against him will be of no avail, even if the spears fall (against him), sides are struck and spears are wielded (against him).<\/em><\/p>\n

Saying this, she departed, but her words left a deep impression upon my heart. From that moment, I began to ponder and reflect over what she had said.<\/p>\n

Since I had a good relationship with Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), I went and sat with him. Noticing that I was in deep thought, he asked, \u201cWhat are you pondering over?\u201d I replied by giving him a verbatim account of what my aunt had said.<\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) exclaimed, \u201cO Uthmaan! By the grace of Allah, you are an intelligent and foresighted man. You are able to discern and distinguish between truth and falsehood. A person like you is not confused between truth and falsehood. What are these idols that our people worship? Are these idols not blind and deaf, unable to hear and see, and unable to cause harm and benefit to anyone?\u201d<\/p>\n

I replied, \u201cBy Allah! They are definitely as you describe!\u201d Upon this, Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) said, \u201cBy Allah! Your aunt spoke the truth! Muhammed bin Abdullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) is the messenger of Allah. Allah Ta\u2018ala sent him with His message to the entire creation. If you feel it appropriate, you may sit in his blessed presence and listen to his message.\u201d<\/p>\n

While I was in conversation with Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), it so happened that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) passed by. Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was with him, and Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) had a cloth in his blessed hand.<\/p>\n

On seeing Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) stood and whispered something into his ear. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then came and sat with us, after which he turned to me and said, \u201cO Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu)! Allah invites you to Jannah, so accept His invitation! I am the messenger of Allah Ta\u2018ala who has been deputed to you and the entire creation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) relates:<\/p>\n

By Allah! The moment I heard this, I could not hold myself back and was overcome by the urge to accept Islam. I thus embraced Islam declaring, \u201cI bear witness that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah who is alone and has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammed (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) is His slave and messenger.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Not even a few days had passed when the respected daughter of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), Hazrat Ruqayyah (radhiyallahu \u2018anha), came into my nikaah. Everyone was overjoyed and pleased with our nikaah. In this regard, my aunt, Su\u2019daa, recited the following poetry:<\/p>\n

Allah has guided His fortunate servant Uthmaan towards the path of guidance. Allah has blessed him with divine guidance and Allah alone guides those whom He wishes towards the truth.<\/em><\/p>\n

After all, he is the son of Arwaa, and the son of Arwaa treaded on the path of truth and did not move away from it.<\/em><\/p>\n

And the one sent as the Nabi of Allah (Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)) handed one of his daughters to him in marriage. This union is such that it resembles the sun and the full moon combining on the horizon.<\/em><\/p>\n

May my life be sacrificed for you, O son of the Banu Haashim (Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam))! You are the trustee of Allah over deen and you have been sent for the guidance of the entire creation.<\/em><\/p>\n
