However, when enquiring about the governor\u2019s condition, the main purpose of Hazrat Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was to find out about the governor\u2019s deeni condition and wellbeing, not just his physical health and wellbeing, as is customary today when people meet and enquire about other people&#8217;s condition.<\/p>\n<p>Once, when a messenger met Hazrat Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and he enquired from him regarding his governor&#8217;s condition, the messenger responded saying, \u201cWhat goodness can there be in him, when I had seen two different types of dishes on his dastarkhaan at one time!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, it was as though the messenger was indicating towards the fact that the lifestyle upon which Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) left the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) was the actual gauge and benchmark to determine one&#8217;s goodness and progress\u00a0according to the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum).<\/p>\n<p>(Malfoozaat Hazrat Moulana Muhammad Ilyaas (rahmatullahi \u2018alaih) pg. 115)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hazrat Moulana Muhammad Ilyaas (rahmatullahi \u2018alaih) once mentioned the following Whenever a messenger would come to Hazrat Umar Farooq (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) from any of his governors, then he would ask the messenger regarding the governor&#8217;s wellbeing and condition.
