If a person is overcome by a state of insanity, then one may treat him by reciting Surah Faatihah in the morning and evening for three days consecutively. Whenever one completes reciting the surah, one should blow on him.<\/p>\n

Hazrat Khaarijah bin Salt (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports from his uncle: \u201cWe departed from the mubaarak company of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and came to a certain tribe of the Arabs. They said (to us), \u2018We were informed that you have come with some goodness from this person (referring to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)). Do you have any medication or treatment with you (to treat a person) as we have among us a person who is tied in chains due to being overcome by a state of insanity.\u2019 We replied that we do have (something with us to treat him). He further says, \u2018They then brought the affected person tied in chains. I then (while treating him) recited Surah Faatihah in the morning and evening for three days. Whenever I completed reciting the surah, I would gather my saliva and then blow (on him).
