Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu anhu) would say, \u201cWhoever wishes to meet Allah Ta\u2019ala tomorrow (i.e. on the Day of Qiyaamah) as a Muslim, he should guard his five daily salaah through performing them at a place where the azaan is called out (i.e. the musjid). Allah has prescribed for His Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) Sunan-e-Huda (such acts of worship which are guidance for you through and through), and verily these (i.e. performing the fardh salaah in the musjid) are from the Sunan-e-Huda (i.e. the prescribed acts of worship in Deen). I do not know of any of you who does not have an area in his home reserved for performing (nafl) salaah. If you perform the fardh salaah in your homes and abandon your musjids, you will be discarding the emphasized sunnah of your Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), and as soon as you will abandon his sunnah, you will certainly go astray.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Ummu Humaid (radhiyallahu anha), the wife of Hazrat Abu Humaid As-Saa\u2019idi (radhiyallahu anhu), once came to Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and said, \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), I long to perform salaah behind you.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cI am aware that you long and desire to perform salaah behind me. However, your salaah in the inner portion of your bedroom is more rewarding than your salaah in your bedroom. Your salaah in your bedroom is more rewarding than your salaah in\u00a0any other part of your home. Your salaah in your home is more rewarding than your salaah in the musjid of your locality. Your salaah in the musjid of your locality is more rewarding than your salaah in my musjid (i.e. Musjid Nabawi).\u201d Hazrat Ummu Humaid (radhiyallahu anha) (in obedience and\u00a0compliance\u00a0with the mubaarak desire of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)) instructed that a small place be reserved for her salaah in the innermost and darkest portion of her bedroom, and she would devotedly perform all her salaah there until the end of her life.<\/em><\/p>\n

5. At all times, one should conduct with hayaa. Hayaa refers to conducting with shame and respect. Hence, in one\u2019s dressing and attire and one\u2019s physical appearance (beard, hair, etc.) one should ensure that one conforms to shariah. Similarly, when interacting with people, one should conduct with shame and respect.<\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cImaan consists of over sixty branches, and Hayaa is an integral branch of Imaan.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cEvery religion has a distinguishing characteristic, and the distinguishing characteristic of Islam is hayaa.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

6. One should be respectful, kind and compassionate towards one\u2019s parents when dealing with them. When speaking to them, one should be humble in one\u2019s approach and speak to them with words of kindness and respect. At all times, one should try and keep their hearts happy. If they are old and require his service, then he should go out of his way to take good care of them and keep them comfortable.<\/p>\n

Hazrat Ibnu Abbaas\u00a0(radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma)\u00a0reports that Rasulullah\u00a0(sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)\u00a0said, \u201cWhoever spends his day obeying Allah Ta\u2019ala with regard to his parents, then every morning, two doors of Jannah will be open for him. If he only has one parent alive then only one door will be opened for him. Whoever spends his day disobeying Allah Ta\u2019ala with regard to his parents then\u00a0two doors of Jahannum will be open for him.
