When he heard this rumor, Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), who was only twelve years old at the time, immediately set out, parting through the people with his sword in his search for Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). All who saw Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) were surprised and remarked, \u201cThe youngster is carrying a sword!\u201d When he reached Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) asked him, \u201cWhat is the matter, O\u00a0Zubair?\u201d Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied by informing Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) of the false rumor that had spread and said, \u201cI came to strike those who seized you with my sword.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In another narration, reported by the son of Hazrat \u2018Urwah (rahimahullah), Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was the first person to draw out his sword for the sake of Allah Ta\u2018ala. This narration further mentions that when Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) heard this reply of Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), he made du\u2018aa for him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0There are different narrations regarding the age of Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) at the time of his accepting Islam. There are two different views that have been narrated from \u2018Urwah (rahimahullah). Abul Aswad narrates from \u2018Urwah (rahimahullah) that Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was twelve years old when he accepted Islam, and Hishaam bin \u2018Urwah (rahimahullah) narrates from his father, \u2018Urwah (rahimahullah), that he was sixteen years old. As for Hishaam bin \u2018Urwah (rahimahullah), his view is that Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was fifteen years old when he accepted Islam. There is also a view of Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) being eight years old at the time of accepting Islam.
