Hazrat Abu Barzah (radhiyallahu anhu) reports that it was the habit of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) to recite the following dua at the end of a gathering whenever he intended to stand up to leave the gathering. One of the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) enquired, \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), (we notice that) you recite a dua at the end of the gathering which you would not recite previously.\u201d\u00a0 Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cI recite this dua at the end of a gathering so that it may serve as an atonement for that (futile speech, etc.) which had occurred during the gathering.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Jubayr bin Mut\u2019im (radhiyallahu anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who recites the following dua at the end of a majlis (gathering) of zikr, it will be a seal upon it (i.e. it will be a seal upon the good that takes place in the gathering), and whoever recites it in a gathering wherein futile speech took place, it will be a means of atonement for it: <\/em><\/p>\n
