1. Ensure that your mouth is clean before reciting the Quraan Majeed.[1]<\/sup><\/p>\n

It is reported that Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) said, \u201cIndeed your mouths are pathways for the Quraan Majeed (i.e. your mouths are used to recite the Quraan Majeed). Hence, cleanse your mouths through using the miswaak.\u201d [2]<\/sup><\/em><\/p>\n

2. Hold the Quraan Majeed with utmost respect and always keep it on a high place with honour. Do not place the Quraan Majeed on the floor or in any place where it will not be respected.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

3. Do not place anything on top of the Quraan Majeed, even if it is a Deeni kitaab.[4]<\/sup><\/p>\n

4. It is not permissible to touch the Quraan Majeed without wudhu.[5]\n

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cOnly a person in the state of wudhu may touch the Quraan Majeed.\u201d [6]<\/em><\/p>\n

5. At the time of reciting the Quraan Majeed, it is mustahab for one to be in a state of wudhu, wearing clean clothes and facing the qiblah. However, if one does not face the qiblah or is not in the state of wudhu while reciting the Quraan Majeed, it is permissible (provided one is not touching the Quraan Majeed).[7]\n
