Respect for the Mubaarak Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) <\/strong><\/p>\n

Hazrat Moulana Ilyaas (rahimahullah) would teach the Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) in Nizaamudden. Among the kitaabs that he would teach was the Mustadrak of Imaam Haakim (rahimahullah) which he would teach before the Fajr salaah.<\/p>\n

Moulana (rahimahullah) had such love and respect for the Mubaarak Ahaadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) that before teaching any lesson of Hadith, he would first perform wudhu and perform two rakaats of salaah. He would say, \u201cThe respect for the Ahaadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) demands much more than this. In reality, this (i.e. performing wudhu and two rakaats of salaah) is the lowest level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moulana Muhammed Ilyaas (rahimahullah) would not speak to anyone during the lesson of Hadith \u2013 even if the person who came to meet him was a person of position or authority. Instead, Moulana (rahimahullah) would ignore him and continue the lesson out of respect for the blessed words of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam).<\/p>\n

Love and Respect for the Family of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hazrat Sheikhul Hadith, Moulana Muhammed Zakariyya (rahimahullah), mentions the following regarding the love and respect which his uncle, Moulana Muhammed Ilyaas (rahimahullah), would show to sayyids (people from the blessed family of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)):<\/p>\n

If any of the guests of Moulana (rahimahullah) were sayyids, then he would show them special attention. He also emphasized to me the importance of honouring and showing importance to the sayyids.<\/p>\n

If any of his mureeds or students was a sayyid, he would readily overlook their faults and mistakes. Thus, I once complained to him regarding one of his students who was also his attendant. Hearing the complaint, he replied, \u201cI am also aware of his fault, however he is a sayyid.\u201d Moulana (rahimahullah) said these words with such respect that I was left overawed.<\/p>\n

Moulana Mu\u2019eenullah Nadwi (rahimahullah) was a sayyid and hence Moulana Muhammed Ilyaas (rahimahullah) would show him great respect and honour. Moulana Mu\u2019eenullah mentions, \u201cOnce, during the month of Ramadhaan, I was sick due to which my food would be brought to me in bed.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne evening, Moulana Muhammed Ilyaas (rahimahullah) was about to commence his nafl salaah (awwaabeen after maghrib) when he turned to the person who was responsible for bringing my food and said to him, \u2018Leave the food. I will take it to him.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThe person did not understand Moulana\u2019s (rahimahullah) instruction and still brought the food to my room. After Moulana (rahimahullah) had completed his nafl salaah, he came to my room and sat at my bedside. He told me that he had wanted to bring my food to me (out of love for serving the family of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)).
