During the Battle of Uhud, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) enquired, \u201cWhere is Sa\u2019d bin Rabee? I do not know of his condition.\u201d Thereafter, one of the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) was sent to search for him.<\/p>\n

He went to the spot where the bodies of the martyrs were laying, and began to shout Hazrat Sa\u2019d\u2019s (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) name to see if he was alive. At one place, while announcing that he was deputed by Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) to enquire about Hazrat Sa\u2019d bin Rabee (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), he heard a feeble voice coming from a certain direction. He turned in that direction and found Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) lying among the martyrs, about to breathe his last.<\/p>\n

With his last breaths, Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was heard saying, \u201cConvey my salaam to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) with the following message, \u2018O Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! May Allah Ta\u2018ala grant you, on my behalf, a reward that is greater than the reward which Allah Ta\u2018ala has granted any Messenger on behalf of any of his followers!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Thereafter, he said to the one who was sent to search for him, \u201cInform my Muslim brothers that nothing will absolve them from blame on the Day of Qiyaamah if the enemy succeeds in reaching Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and killing him before all of them die.\u201d With these words, Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) breathed his last and departed from the world. The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) had given true proof of their devotion to Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). Even when they suffered wound after wound and were on their last breath, they had no complaint nor any wish on their lips and could not think of anything else besides the safety and welfare of Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam).<\/p>\n
