On the occasion of Hudaybiyah, when the disbelievers prevented the Muslims from entering Makkah Mukarramah to perform Umrah, Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was commissioned by Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) to negotiate with the Quraish in Makkah Mukarramah.<\/p>\n

When Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) had left for Makkah Mukarramah, some of the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) envied himas he would be able to perform tawaaf of the House of Allah Ta\u2018ala. On the other hand, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) remarked, \u201cI do not think he will ever desire to perform tawaaf without me.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) entered Makkah Mukarramah, Abaan bin Sa\u2019eed took him into his protection and said to him, \u201cYou may move around freely wherever you wish. Nobody here can touch you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) carried out his negotiations with Abu Sufyaan and the other chiefs of Makkah Mukarramah on behalf of Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), and when he was about to return, the Quraish themselves said to him, \u201cNow when you are here in Makkah Mukarramah, you can perform tawaaf before you return.\u201d However, Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied, \u201cHow can it ever be possible for me to perform tawaaf (without Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam))?\u201d<\/p>\n

This reply was most unpalatable for the Quraish and they decided to detain Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) in Makkah Mukarramah. News then reached the Muslims that Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) had been martyred.<\/p>\n

Upon this news reaching Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), he took the oath of allegiance from all the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) to fight till the last drop of their blood.<\/p>\n

When the Quraish learnt of this, they were overcome by fear and immediately released Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu). (Musnad Ahmad #18910, Kanzul \u2018Ummaal #30152)<\/em><\/p>\n

From this incident, we see the great love which Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu anhu) had for Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), that he was not prepared to perform Tawaaf without Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
