O Allah! (Let it rain) around us and not upon us. O Allah! (Let it rain) on the hills, on the mountains, on the hilltops, in the valleys and in the places where trees grow<\/em> (forests)<\/em>. <\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that once a person entered the musjid on the day of Jumuah from the door which was in the direction of the mimbar. He entered while Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was delivering the Khutbah. The man stood in front of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and said, \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off (due to the animals being too weak for travel); so make dua to Allah Ta\u2018ala for rain.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) raised both his hands and made dua saying:<\/p>\n

O Allah, Bless us with rain! O Allah, Bless us with rain! O Allah, Bless us with rain!<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) further says, \u201cBy Allah, we could not see any cloud in the sky nor any sign of rain, and there was no house or dwelling between us and (the mountains of) Sala\u2019. Then a cloud (round in shape) like a shield appeared from behind it (i.e. the Sala\u2019 Mountain). When it came in the middle of the sky, it spread out (and grew until it covered the entire sky) and then it began to rain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) further says, \u201cBy Allah! We did not see the sun for six days. A person then entered through the same door the next jumuah while Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was delivering the khutbah. The man stood in front of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and said, \u2018O Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off (due to the roads being flooded), so make dua to Allah Ta\u2018ala to withhold the rain.\u2019 Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) raised both his hands and said,<\/p>\n

The rain then stopped and we came out (of the musjid) walking in the sun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hazrat Shareek (rahimahullah) says, \u201cI asked Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) whether the same person had come who asked for rain (the previous Friday). Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied that he did not know.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
