The reason for them going to the Jews is that they were reasonably acquainted with the knowledge of the Ambiyaa (\u2018alaihimus salaam) and were more knowledgeable regarding the signs of the prophets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>These two people went to Madinah Munawwarah and informed the Jewish scholars of what was happening in Makkah Mukarramah. The Jews suggested that they pose three questions to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam):<\/p>\n<p>The first question was, \u201cWho were the people who sought refuge in a cave and what is their incident?\u201d In other words, they would ask Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) regarding the incident of the people of the cave.<\/p>\n<p>The second question was, \u201cWho was the man who traversed the entire earth from the East to the West?\u201d In other words, they would ask Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) regarding the incident of Zul Qarnain.<\/p>\n<p>The third question was, \u201cWhat is the rooh (soul)?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Jewish scholars further mentioned that if Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) answered the first two questions and remained silent regarding the third question, then they should understand that he is a true Nabi, otherwise he is a liar and impostor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>(Extracted from Seeratul Mustafa 1\/194)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When the Quraish realized that their questions were foolish and prejudiced, they engaged in mutual consultation and decided to send Nadhr bin Haarith and \u2018Uqbah bin Abu Mu\u2018ait to Madinah Munawwarah to enquire regarding Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) from the Jewish scholars residing there.
