Accepting Islam<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) accepted Islam the day after Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) received prophethood. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was blessed with prophethood on a Monday and Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) accepted Islam on a Tuesday.\u00a0(Usdul Ghaabah 3\/283)<\/em><\/p>\n

After Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was blessed with prophethood, Hazrat Jibreel (\u2018alaihis salaam) taught Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) how to perform wudhu and salaah. After performing wudhu and two rakaats of salaah, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) returned home and taught his respected wife, Hazrat Khadeejah (radhiyallahu \u2018anha), how to perform wudhu and salaah. She thus made wudhu and performed salaah with Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). This was on Monday evening.\u00a0(\u2018Uyoon-ul-Athar 1\/109, Al-Bidaayah Wan-Nihaayah 4\/60, Isaabah 8\/100, Seerat-ul-Mustafa 1\/153 & 1\/155)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was performing salaah with Hazrat Khadeejah (radhiyallahu \u2018anha), Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) stood observing them engaged in salaah. After Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) completed the salaah, Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) asked, \u201cWhat is this that you are engaged in?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cThis is the deen of Allah Ta\u2018ala which He has chosen for His servants and which He sent to the world with his Prophets (\u2018alaihimus salaam). I am inviting you to Allah Ta\u2018ala; to worship Him alone and renounce the idols of Laat and \u2018Uzza.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) replied, \u201cThis is something which I have never heard of before today. I do not wish to take a decision without discussing this with my father, Abu Taalib.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) did not want Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) to reveal his Islam before Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) announced it publicly. Hence, he said to him, \u201cO \u2018Ali! If you do not wish to embrace Islam, then refrain from mentioning it to anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not even a night had passed when Allah Ta\u2018ala guided the heart of Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) towards Islam. The following morning, he presented himself before Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and asked, \u201cWhat are you inviting me towards?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cI invite you to bear testimony that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah Ta\u2018ala alone, who has no partner, and I invite you to renounce Laat and \u2018Uzza and disassociate yourself from idols and idol-worship.\u201d Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) then embraced Islam.\u00a0(Usdul Ghaabah 3\/283, Seerah Halabiyyah 1\/383)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
