At this time, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was greatly concerned about his beloved uncle, Abu Taalib, who had taken care of him in his childhood.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) thus went to his uncle, Hazrat \u2018Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), who was among the wealthy people of Makkah Mukarramah, and said to him, \u201cO my uncle, \u2018Abbaas! Your brother, Abu Taalib, has many dependents, and you can see the drought and difficulty that has befallen the people. Let us go to him and offer to assist him in taking care of some of his children. I will take one of his sons into my care, and you can take another, and we will both look after them and see to their needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat \u2018Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) happily agreed, and so they proceeded to Abu Taalib and offered to look after two of his sons. Abu Taalib replied, \u201cLeave my son, \u2018Aqeel, with me, and you may take any other son that you wish.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) thus took Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) into his care, while Hazrat \u2018Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) took Hazrat Ja\u2019far (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) into his care.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was blessed with the good fortune of being raised in the care of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). After Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) received prophethood, Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was the first child to embrace Islam at his hands.
