It is reported that Sayyiduna Ibnu Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) said, \u201cCalling out the adhaan and iqaamah is not the responsibility of women.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

2. He should be sane.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

3. He should be of the age of understanding. The adhaan of a small child who has not reached the age of understanding is not valid.[4]<\/sup><\/p>\n

4. He should be able to pronounce the words of adhaan correctly.<\/p>\n

5. He should have knowledge of the salaah times.[5]<\/sup><\/p>\n

6. He should be a pious and upright Muslim.[6]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Sayyiduna Ibnu Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe best (most righteous) from amongst you should be appointed to call out the adhaan, and the best qaari from amongst you (i.e. the most learned in regard to recitation and the masaail of salaah) should lead you in your salaah.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Note: <\/strong>The first three qualities mentioned are conditions for the validity of the adhaan. Hence, if they are not found, the adhaan will not be valid.<\/p>\n
