Hazrat Abu Zarr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports, \u201cI once asked Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u2018O Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), please give me some advice.\u2019 Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u2018Hold firm onto taqwa, for it is the head (highest) of all deeds.\u2019 I then said, \u2018O Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), please give me more advice.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u2018Hold firm onto the recitation of the Quraan Majeed, for it is a light for you in this world and a treasure for you in the Hereafter.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Ibnu Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cIndeed these hearts rust just as iron rusts when water comes into contact with it.\u201d The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) asked, \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), what is the way to cleanse it?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cRemembering death often and reciting the Quraan Majeed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cWhen a person uses the miswaak and then stands to perform salaah, an angel stands behind him and listens attentively to his recitation of the Quraan Majeed. The angel then draws close to him until it places its mouth upon his mouth. Whatever portion of the Quraan Majeed he then recites is protected in the belly of the angel (and thereafter secured by Allah Ta\u2018ala). Hence, ensure that you cleanse your mouth before reciting the Quraan Majeed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cAllah Ta\u2018ala does not listen to anything (with so much pleasure) as He listens to a Nabi with a melodious voice who is reciting the Quraan Majeed aloud.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Irbaadh bin Saariyah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who performs his fardh salaah (in the prescribed manner), then for him is a dua that will surely be answered. The one who completes the Quraan Majeed, then for him is a dua that will surely be answered.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Ibnu Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that a person once asked Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u201cWhich action is most beloved to Allah Ta\u2018ala?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u2018The action of the haal and murtahil (the traveller who after stopping during his journey, recommences his journey)\u2019. The man inquired, \u2018O Rasullulah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), by saying the action of the haal and murtahil (the traveller who stops during his journey and then recommences his journey), who are you referring to?\u2019 Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cI am referring to the reciter of the Quraan Majeed who (during his journey of reciting the Book of Allah Ta\u2018ala) recites from the beginning of the Quraan Majeed till he reaches the end, and when he reaches the end (of the Quraan Majeed), then he recommences (the Quraan Majeed from the beginning).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
