I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is one letter, but alif is one letter, laam is one letter, and meem is one letter (i.e. for Alif Laam Meem one receives thirty rewards).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Commentary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The author of Ihya-uloomid-Deen reports on the authority of Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) that for every letter of the\u00a0 Qur\u2019aan Majeed recited, there are hundred blessings for the one who recites the Qur\u2019aan Majeed while standing in salaah, fifty blessings for the one who recites it while sitting in salaah, twenty five blessings for the one who recites it in the state of wudhu outside salaah, ten blessings for the one who recites it without wudhu, and one blessing for the one who does not recite it himself but listens eagerly to the reciter.
