Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that a certain Sahaabi once said to Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u201cO Rasul of Allah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! Indeed the muazzins have great virtue over us!\u201d Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) responded, \u201cRepeat the words of the muazzin (when he calls out the azaan), and when you complete (replying to the azaan) then make dua, your dua will be accepted.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Leave a sufficient amount of time between the azaan and iqaamah so that people will be able to fulfill their needs and prepare for salaah. However, Maghrib Salaah should be performed immediately after the azaan.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Jaabir (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) addressed Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) saying, \u201cWhen you call out the azaan then call it out with tarassul (gradually, with pausing after each phrase), and when you call out the iqaamah then call it out quickly, and allow so much of time to pass between your azaan and iqaamah that a person who is eating can complete his meal, and the one who is drinking can finish his drink, and the person who has a need to relieve himself can do so, and do not stand up (to form the saffs and call out the iqaamah) until you see me.\u201d<\/p>\n

3. If you are in a place out of the town where there is no person present to perform salaah with you, then even though you will perform salaah alone, you should still call out the azaan and iqaamah. If you call out the azaan and iqaamah and thereafter perform salaah, the malaa\u2019ikah (angels) will perform salaah with you.[4]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports, \u201cI heard Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) mentioning, \u2018Allah Ta\u2018ala becomes pleased when the shepherd of goats and sheep, who is (alone) on the peak of the mountain, calls out the azaan and then performs salaah. Hence, Allah Ta\u2018ala says, \u2018Look at this servant of mine! He is calling out the azaan and establishing salaah while fearing me! Indeed, I have forgiven my servant and I (have decreed that I) will admit him into paradise!\u2019\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Salmaan Al-Faarsi (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cWhen a person is (alone) in a deserted area and the time of salaah enters, then he should perform wudhu. If he cannot find water then he should perform tayammum. If he calls out the iqaamah (before performing salaah), his two angels will perform salaah with him, and if he calls out the azaan and iqaamah (before performing salaah), such large armies of Allah Ta\u2018ala (angels) will perform salaah behind him that both ends of these armies cannot be seen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

4. If many qadha salaahs are being performed together, it is permissible to call out a separate azaan for each missed salaah, as well as to suffice on one azaan for all the missed salaahs. However, a separate iqaamah should be called out for each salaah.[7]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (rahimahullah) reports that his father, Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas\u2019ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), mentioned, \u201cOn the occasion of the Battle of Khandaq (the Battle of the Trench), the disbelievers kept Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) (and the believers) occupied (through fighting) until four salaahs were missed and a portion of the night had passed. Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then commanded Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) to call out the azaan. After calling out the azaan, Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) called out the iqaamah and they performed the qadha of the Zuhr Salaah. Thereafter, Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) called out the iqaamah and they performed the qadha of the Asr Salaah. Thereafter, Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) called out the iqaamah and they performed the qadha of the Maghrib Salaah. Finally, Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) called out the iqaamah and they performed the Esha Salaah.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> The Esha Salaah was not missed but was performed later than the normal time. For this reason, the Esha Salaah was also included with the other missed salaahs.<\/p>\n
