The founder of this religion was Abdullah bin Saba, a Jew who pretended to be a Muslim. He and his followers fabricated lies in regard to the revelation of the Quraan Majeed, the Ahaadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and the illustrious Sahaabah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam).

In essence, they tried their level best to distort the entire Deen of Islam. However, Allah Ta‘ala exposed their treachery and deceit to the Ummah and preserved the Deen of Islam in it pristine purity and form.

Through carrying out a comparative study between the religion of Islam and the religion of Shiasm, one will realise that Shiasm rests on the foundation of Taqiyyah (holy hypocrisy) and deception in all matters. As far as the Quraan and Hadith are concerned, the Shiah claim that they cannot be relied upon since both have been transmitted by the Sahaabah who had turned apostate after the demise of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) (May Allah Ta‘ala forbid).

They claim that with the exception of a minute group of persons, consisting of the beloved daughter of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), Hazrat Fatimah (radhiyallahu ‘anha), her husband, Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), their two infant sons, Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husain (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) and three or four other Sahaabah, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) could not trust anyone during his lifetime. All the Sahaabah were unfaithful to him and awaited the moment of his death so that they may usurp the power and leadership. They believe that the entire Quraan does not exist in the Ummah but is with the awaited Mahdi, who went into hiding in a cave many centuries ago and will only appear with the entire Quraan before Qiyaamah.

In short, according to the Shiah, the entire life of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) passed with him acquiring nothing but a handful of sincere followers. The rest of the Sahaabah were all hypocrites. Therefore, the entire life of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) went wasted.

On the contrary, the Ahlus sunnah wal Jamaah believe that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was the most successful servant of Allah Ta‘ala in the world. The success of his mission is reflected most in his illustrious Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum). He succeeded in establishing Islam on the earth and the highest level of Imaan in the hearts of his Sahaabah. His Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) were of such a calibre that they earned praise from Allah Ta‘ala himself in the Quraan, the Tauraah and the Injeel.

The ardent love and extra ordinary devotion which the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) showed to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) can easily be gauged from the observation and testimony of the Kuffaar of that time.
When the Truce of Hudaybiyah was being discussed, Hazrat Urwah bin Masood (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), a messenger of the Quraish (who later on embraced Islaam) had an opportunity of very carefully studying the behaviour and conduct of the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) towards Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam).

When he returned to his people, he said to them, “O, Quraish! I have been an envoy to many great kings. I have seen the courts of Caesar, the Chosroes and the Negus. By Allah! Nowhere have I seen the people around a king or ruler so respectful to him as I found the companions of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). When Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) spits, they rush to take the spit in their hands before it touches the ground and anoint their faces and bodies with it. When he speaks, they all rush to carry out his wish. When he makes Wudhu, they vie with one another to collect a drop of the used water before it falls on the ground. If anyone fails to get that water, he touches the wet hands of the person who managed to get some and then rubs his hands on his face. When they speak in his presence, they speak in a low voice and never lift their gaze to look at his face, out of respect for him. A hair falling from his head or beard is preserved to get blessings from it and then they treat it with tremendous reverence and respect. In short, I have never seen any group of people love their master and show so much devotion to him as I have seen the companions of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) love him and show devotion to him.” (Fazaail-e-Aamaal Pg. 166)

May Allah Ta‘ala bless us with the true love of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and his Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) and grant us the Tawfeeq of emulating the Mubaarak Sunnah in all facets of our life.

The religion of the Shiah was founded in the time of Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu).
