When you complete the tilaawat of the entire Quraan Majeed and reach Surah Naas, then it is mustahab for you to commence the Quraan Majeed again by reciting Surah Faatihah and the beginning verses of Surah Baqarah until [1]<\/sup> \u0627\u064e\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064f\u0641\u0652\u0644\u0650\u062d\u064f\u0648\u0646 .<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Upon completing the recitation of the entire Quraan Majeed, recite the following dua:<\/p>\n

O Allah Ta\u2018ala! Shower Your special mercy upon me through the Quraan Majeed, and make it for me an imaam (a means of direction in my life), a means of guidance and a means of mercy. O Allah Ta\u2018ala! Assist me to remember that portion of the Quraan Majeed that I have forgotten, and teach me that portion of the Quraan Majeed that I do not know, and bless me to recite the Quraan Majeed throughout the night and day, and make it a proof for me (on the Day of Qiyaamah), O Rabb of the<\/em> worlds![2]<\/sup><\/p>\n

3. If you have memorized any portion of the Quraan Majeed, then ensure that you revise it regularly so that you do not forget it. The Hadith has cautioned against neglecting the recitation of the Quraan Majeed and forgetting what you have memorised.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Moosa Ash\u2019ari (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cLook after (and safeguard) the Quraan Majeed. I swear by Him in Whose hands is my life, it (the Quraan Majeed) can escape quicker from the heart than a camel can escape from its rope (with which it is tied).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas bin Maalik (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe rewards of the good deeds of my Ummah were presented before me, to the extent (that I was shown the reward) of a person picking up a small piece of dirt which was lying in the musjid, and the sins of my Ummah were presented before me, and I did not see any sin greater than the sin of a person who forgot a surah or an aayah of the Quraan Majeed which he was blessed with.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Ibnu Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe example of the one who memorizes the Quraan Majeed is like that of a person who has tied camels. If he continues to watch over them, he will keep them secured, and if he leaves them untied, they will leave him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Sa\u2019d bin Ubaadah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThere is no person who learns the Quraan Majeed and thereafter forgets it, except that he will meet Allah Ta\u2018ala on the Day of Qiyaamah as a leper.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Note: <\/strong><\/p>\n

1. In this Hadith, the sin of forgetting an aayah or surah of the Quraan Majeed is explained to be the worst of sins. The reason for this is that one is showing ingratitude to Allah Ta\u2018ala for this great bounty of the Quraan Majeed by neglecting its recitation and thereby forgetting what one had been blessed with.[6]<\/sup><\/p>\n

2. Some Ulama have explained that the admonition explained in this Hadith is for the one who neglects the recitation of the Quraan Majeed and forgets what he had committed to memory.[7]<\/sup>\u00a0Other Ulama hold the opinion that this admonition is for the one who neglects the recitation of the Quraan Majeed to the extent that he not only forgets what he had committed to memory, but also forgets how to recite the Quraan Majeed.[8]<\/sup><\/p>\n
