On meeting him, I asked, \u201cWho are you?\u201d He replied, \u201cI am the messenger of Allah.\u201d I asked, \u201cDid Allah Ta\u2018ala send you as the Nabi?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied in the affirmative. I then asked, \u201cWhat message did Allah Ta\u2018ala send you with?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cAllah Ta\u2018ala sent me with the message that you should believe in Him as one god and not ascribe any partners to Him. You should destroy idols and maintain family ties.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>I then enquired, \u201cIn regard to this deen, who is with you?\u201d He replied, \u201cA free man and a slave (referring to Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and Hazrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu)).\u201d I submitted, \u201cI am also your follower and I wish to remain with you.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) advised, \u201cFor now, return to your home. When you learn of my deen becoming dominant in the land, you may return.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I thus embraced Islam and returned home, and continued to enquire regarding news of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). When Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) migrated to Madinah Munawwarah, I presented myself before him and asked, \u201cO Prophet of Allah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! Do you remember me?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cYes, you are the person who approached me while I was in Makkah.\u201d I responded, \u201cYes, I am the same person. O Prophet of Allah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)!
