{"id":13231,"date":"2019-01-10T16:00:50","date_gmt":"2019-01-10T14:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?p=13231"},"modified":"2018-12-31T16:15:31","modified_gmt":"2018-12-31T14:15:31","slug":"hazrat-uthmaan-radhiyallahu-anhu-part-thirty-nine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?p=13231","title":{"rendered":"Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) \u2013 Part Thirty Nine"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?attachment_id=10388\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10388\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10388\" src=\"http:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Uthmaan-Radhiyallahu-Anhu_nr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"258\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Uthmaan-Radhiyallahu-Anhu_nr.jpg 258w, https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Uthmaan-Radhiyallahu-Anhu_nr-190x127.jpg 190w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" \/><\/a>Appointment as the Khalifah (continued)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) made his right over to Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) made his right over to Hazrat \u2018Abdur Rahmaan bin \u2018Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), and Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) made his right over to Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), Hazrat \u2018Abdur Rahmaan bin \u2018Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) also forewent his right, leaving the Khilaafah between Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>Hazrat \u2018Abdur Rahmaan bin \u2018Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) then asked Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) if they would allow him to pass the decision as to which one of them would be the Khalifah. Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) agreed to his proposal and also pledged that they would wholeheartedly abide by his decision. The members of the Shura then dispersed.<\/p>\n<p>Thereafter, for the next three days and nights, Hazrat \u2018Abdur Rahmaan bin \u2018Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) approached the people of Madinah Munawwarah, asking them who they felt should be appointed as the Khalifah. He also approached the eminent and prominent personalities of Madinah Munawwarah, at times, individually, and at times, collectively. He discussed the matter with some openly and others secretly, in accordance to what he felt most appropriate. He also enquired regarding the opinion of the womenfolk and the children of Madinah Munawwarah, as well as the travellers and Bedouins who came to Madinah Munawwarah during these three days.<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat \u2018Abdur Rahmaan bin \u2018Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) barely slept during these three days and nights. Instead, he remained engaged in salaah, du\u2018aa, istikhaarah and consulting the people.
