{"id":13184,"date":"2018-12-22T06:18:42","date_gmt":"2018-12-22T04:18:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?p=13184"},"modified":"2018-12-22T06:18:42","modified_gmt":"2018-12-22T04:18:42","slug":"hazrat-uthmaan-radhiyallahu-anhu-part-thirty-six","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?p=13184","title":{"rendered":"Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) \u2013 Part Thirty Six"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/?attachment_id=10388\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10388\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10388\" src=\"http:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Uthmaan-Radhiyallahu-Anhu_nr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"258\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Uthmaan-Radhiyallahu-Anhu_nr.jpg 258w, https:\/\/ihyaauddeen.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Uthmaan-Radhiyallahu-Anhu_nr-190x127.jpg 190w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" \/><\/a>Appointment as the Khalifah (continued)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before passing away, Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) formed a Shura (council) consisting of the following six Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum):<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), Hazrat \u2018Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and Hazrat \u2018Abdur Rahmaan bin \u2018Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>In regard to these six Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum), Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) mentioned, \u201cI do not find any people to be more worthy of the Khilaafah than this group of Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) on account of the fact that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) left this world in the condition that he was extremely pleased with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In this manner, Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) decided that this Shura of six Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) would decide among themselves and reach a conclusion as to who which of them would be appointed as the Khalifah. Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) also instructed that they should make the decision within three days.<\/p>\n<p>Although Hazrat Sa\u2019eed bin Zaid (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) was also worthy of the Khilaafah, Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) did not appoint him to this Shura.
