However, from the incident below, we will realize that these allegations are completely false as Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) actually had immense respect and love for Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat \u2018Urwah bin Zubair (rahimahullah) reports that on one occasion, a person began to revile and speak ill of Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) in the presence of Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu). As soon as Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) heard what this person was saying, he rose in defense of Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) thus gestured towards the blessed grave of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and addressed the person saying, \u201cDo you know who the occupant of this grave is? It is Muhammed (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), the son of \u2018Abdullah who is the son of \u2018Abdul Muttalib, and Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) is the son of Abu Taalib who is the son of \u2018Abdul Muttalib. Hence, when Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) is the cousin of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), you should not speak anything but good regarding him, for if you anger him then you will cause pain to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) in his grave.\u201d <em>(Fadhaa\u2019il-us-Sahaabah lil-Imaam Ahmed #1089)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the above incident, it is evident that Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) had the utmost respect and love for Hazrat \u2018Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).
