Zaid bin \u2018Amr bin Nufail was also present in this gathering. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) refused to partake of the food. Subsequently, Zaid also declined to eat this food saying, \u201cI refuse to consume the meat of an animal slaughtered in the name of idols and food dedicated to idols. I will only consume food upon which the name of Allah Ta\u2018ala is taken exclusively.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>Zaid bin \u2018Amr bin Nufail would often say to the Quraish, \u201cAllah Ta\u2018ala alone created the goats and Allah Ta\u2018ala Himself produced the grass for it to graze on. So why do you slaughter the goat in the name of someone other than Allah Ta\u2018ala?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zaid bin \u2018Amr bin Nufail was the cousin (father\u2019s brother\u2019s son) of Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), and the father of Hazrat Sa\u2018eed (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), one of the \u2018Asharah Mubasharah (the ten Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) who were given the glad tidings of Jannah). He was averse to idolatry and was in perpetual pursuit of the true religion.
