It was customary among the Arabs for those who were noble to send their suckling infants out to the countryside so that they would be raised in the clean and pure air of the countryside, learn to speak eloquent Arabic and so that they would not lose the qualities and culture of the Arabs. Hazrat \u2018Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) says:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\" style=\"font-family: 'traditional arabic'; font-size: 16pt; text-align: center;\">\u062a\u0645\u0639\u062f\u062f\u0648\u0627 \u0648\u062a\u0645\u0639\u0632\u0631\u0648\u0627 \u0648\u0627\u062e\u0634\u0648\u0634\u0646\u0648\u0627<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cAdopt the appearance of Ma\u2018ad bin \u2018Adnaan (i.e. do not adopt the clothing and appearance of the non-Arabs), exercise patience upon all adversities, and wear coarse clothing (i.e. adopt simplicity and do not fall into luxurious comforts).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) once remarked to Rasulullah (sallallahu &#8216;alaihi wasallam), \u201cO Rasul of Allah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! Your speech is extremely eloquent!\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu &#8216;alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cFirstly, I am from the Quraish tribe. Moreover, I was suckled amongst the Banu Sa\u2019d tribe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to this custom of the Arabs, the women of Banu Sa\u2019d would make an annual journey to Makkah Mukarramah in search of suckling infants. Hazrat Halimah (radhiyallahu \u2018anha) recalls, \u201cA few women from the Banu Sa\u2019d and I set out for Makkah Mukarramah in search of suckling infants. Accompanying me on this journey was my husband and my infant son who was still breastfeeding. As our conveyance, we had an extremely thin donkey and a camel that would not provide even a single drop of milk. We were unable to fall asleep at night due to the hunger.
