It was the armies under his command that defeated the Romans in Qaadisiyyah. However, Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) could not personally lead the army in this specific battle, as he was ill and sores had broken out across his entire body, and so he informed the people of his illness and excused himself from joining them in fighting against the kuffaar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>\u00a0After the battle was over, a person, despite knowing the predicament of Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), began to criticize him and tried to spur people against him through reciting the following poetry:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\" style=\"font-family: 'traditional arabic'; font-size: 16pt; text-align: center;\">\u0623\u0644\u0645 \u062a\u0631 \u0623\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0623\u0646\u0632\u0644 \u0646\u0635\u0631\u0647\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u0648\u0633\u0639\u062f \u0628\u0628\u0627\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0642\u0627\u062f\u0633\u064a\u0629 \u0645\u0639\u0635\u0645<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Do you not see that Allah Ta\u2018ala has sent down His assistance, while Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) is safely guarded (through not fighting) at the door of Qaadisiyyah?<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\" style=\"font-family: 'traditional arabic'; font-size: 16pt; text-align: center;\">\u0641\u0623\u0628\u0646\u0627 \u0648\u0642\u062f \u0622\u0645\u062a \u0646\u0633\u0627\u0621 \u0643\u062b\u064a\u0631\u0629\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u0648\u0646\u0633\u0648\u0629 \u0633\u0639\u062f \u0644\u064a\u0633 \u0641\u064a\u0647\u0646 \u0623\u064a\u0645<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We are returning while many of our wives have become widows, and there is no widow among the wives of Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When Hazrat Sa\u2019d (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) heard the poetry in which this person was falsely accusing him of being cowardly and refraining from fighting without any excuse, he made du\u2018aa saying, \u201cO Allah! Cut his tongue and hand on my behalf!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Soon thereafter, an arrow struck his mouth, rendering him dumb, after which his hand was cut off while fighting.
