The Islam of Hazrat Amr bin Abasah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)

Hazrat ‘Amr bin ‘Abasah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) is a Sahaabi of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) who brought imaan in the early days of Islam. Hazrat Amr bin Abasah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) explains the story of how he accepted Islam. He says:

From the very beginning of my life, I had nothing to do with idol worship and I did not like idol worship. I knew and understood that idols could not help nor harm anyone, because idols are just pieces of stone.

One day, I met a knowledgeable person, who was either a Jew or a Christian, and said to him, “Tell me – which religion is the best religion?”

The Greatest Person After all the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam) – Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)

It is the belief of all the Muslims that the greatest person in the world, after the Ambiyaa of Allah Ta‘ala, is Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (radhiyallahu ‘anhu). In one Hadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said that from all the people on earth, it is Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) who is the best person. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) also said that from all the people of our ummah, the first person to enter Jannah will be Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu).

In another Hadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) explained that Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) has the greatest imaan from all the people after the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam).

Returning to Makkah Mukarramah after Mi’raaj

 

When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) returned to Makkah Mukarramah after the mi’raaj, and he told the Quraish how Allah Ta‘ala had taken him from Makkah Mukarramah to Bayt-ul-Maqdis, and then through the seven heavens, and then brought him back to Makkah Mukarramah, all in a single night, then they did not believe him. They called him a liar and began to mock at him and laugh at him.

Some of the Quraish had been to Bayt-ul-Maqdis before, so they knew what it looked like. Now, to test Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), they began to ask him certain questions about Bayt-ul-Maqdis.

The Miraculous Journey of Israa and Mi’raaj

The Israa and Mi’raaj was a miraculous journey on which Allah Ta‘ala took our beloved Nabi Muhammed (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). This journey was such a great blessing from Allah Ta‘ala, that no other Nabi of Allah Ta‘ala had this blessing. In a single night, Allah Ta‘ala took Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) from Makkah Mukarramah all the way to Musjid-ul-Aqsa in the land of Palestine, and then Allah Ta‘ala took him into the sky, past the seven heavens, until he met and spoke to Allah Ta‘ala. Thereafter, that very same night, Allah Ta‘ala returned Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) back to Makkah Mukarramah.

The Islam of Sayyiduna Khaalid bin Sa‘eed bin ‘Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)

Sayyiduna Khaalid bin Sa‘eed bin ‘Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) was among the first people to embrace Islam. He was either the fourth or the fifth Sahaabi to accept Islam.

Before accepting Islam, he saw a dream. Explaining what he saw in the dream, he says:

I dreamt that I was standing at the edge of a deep pit which was filled with fire. My, father, Sa‘eed, wanted to push me into the pit of fire.
