This entry is part of 15 in the series Riyaa - Doing things for Show

Hadhrat Qaasim bin Mukhaimirah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Allah Ta’ala does not accept any action wherein there was pride, even to the extent of a mustard seed."

The Most Independent from all Partners

This entry is part 1 of 15 in the series Riyaa - Doing things for Show

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said that Allah Ta’ala said: “I am the most independent from all partners. Whoever ascribes partners with Me in any action, then I will have nothing to do with this and the action will be regarded as done solely for the one who was joined as a partner with Allah Ta’ala.”

Doing Actions to please others besides Allah Ta’ala

This entry is part 2 of 15 in the series Riyaa - Doing things for Show

Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed bin Abi Fadhaalah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that he heard Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying: “When Allah Ta’ala will gather the former and the latter people on the day of Qiyaamah, the day there is no doubt regarding its occurrence, a caller will announce, ‘Whosoever carried out any action (in the world) for the sake and pleasure of someone besides Allah Ta’ala, he should go to him and seek his reward from him, for certainly Allah Ta’ala is the most independent from all partners (that one ascribes in his actions) (i.e. when one ascribes partners with Allah Ta’ala in an action, then Allah Ta’ala does not accept the action at all, instead on the day of Qiyaamah Allah Ta’ala will hand over the person to all those people for whose sake he had done the action, and he will be told that there is no reward for you from Allah Ta’ala instead you should go and receive your reward from those people for whose sake you did the action).’”

In whichever condition You Fight or are Killed, Allah Ta’ala will Resurrect you in that Condition

This entry is part 3 of 15 in the series Riyaa - Doing things for Show

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that on one occasion I said to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam): “O Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), inform me regarding fighting in Jihaad. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied: “O Abdullah bin Amr, if you fight in the path of Allah Ta’ala while observing steadfastness and perseverance (against the enemy, remaining firm on the battlefield) and with the hope of earning reward from Allah Ta’ala (i.e. you fight with complete ikhlaas and for the upliftment of Deen and you pass away in that condition),  Allah Ta’ala will resurrect you (from your grave on the day of Qiyaamah) in the same manner  with perseverance and the desire of earning the rewards of the Aakhirah. If you fight in Jihaad with the intention of showing off (your bravery) and acquiring the wealth of the world (i.e. your intention is not for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala and the upliftment of Deen, instead it is only for the sake of acquiring wealth and you pass away in that condition), Allah Ta’ala will resurrect you (from your grave on the day of Qiyaamah) in the same manner while possessing riyaa within your heart and craving for the wealth of the world. O Abdullah bin Amr, (understand well,) in whichever condition you fight or are killed, Allah Ta’ala will resurrect you in that condition.

Show and Ostentation

Hadhrat Muaadh bin Jabal (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever does any action in this world with the intention of show and ostentation, Allah Ta’ala will expose him and disgrace him before the creation on the day of Qiyaamah.”
