Duaa upon Completing Wudhu

This entry is part of 7 in the series Duaas for Wudhu

wudhu khanaOne should recite the following Duaa upon completing his wudhu:

I testify that there is no deity besides Allah Ta’ala who is alone and has no partner and I testify that Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is his servant and messenger.

O Allah, include me from amongst those who repent excessively and among those who are extremely pure.

Hadhrat Umar (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: Whoever performs a perfect wudhu then recites the following Duaa:

The eight doors of Jannat are opened for him and he may enter from whichever door he wishes.

O Allah! Forgive my sins, make my house spacious for me and grant me blessings in my sustenance.

Hadhrat Abu Musa Ashari (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports: I brought water to Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) to perform wudhu. He performed wudhu and I heard him reciting the duaa I then asked him: O Nabi of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) I heard you whilst making wudhu reciting the duaa. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied: Is this Duaa insufficient in any way, (in encompassing all the bounties and favours of Allah Ta’ala?)

Hadhrat ibn Umar (Radhiyallahu Anhuma) report that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who makes wudhu and takes the name of Allah Ta’ala (at the beginning of the wudhu), the wudhu will be a means of purification for his entire body (i.e. for the minor sins committed by the entire body), and the one who makes wudhu and does not take the name of Allah Ta’ala, the wudhu will only be a means of purification for the limbs of wudhu (i.e. for the minor sins committed by the limbs of wudhu ).”
