وعن عبادة بن الصامت أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ليس من أمتي من لم يجل كبيرنا ويرحم صغيرنا ويعرف لعالمنا حقه رواه أحمد بإسناد حسن والطبراني والحاكم إلا أنه قال ليس منا. كلمة “حقه” من مجمع الزوائد (الترغيب والترهيب 1/149)

Hadhrat Ubaadah bin Saamit (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “That person is not from my ummah (i.e. from among those who follow my way), who does not respect our old, and does not show mercy to our young, and does not recognize the right of our Ulama.”

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
