Aadaab of Business and Dealings – Part 14

1. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) had taught the Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu Anhum) to recite ten verses of the Qur’aan Majeed when returning from the marketplace.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, “O group of tradesmen! Is anyone of you unable to recite (at least) ten aayaat of the Qur’aan Majeed when returning from the marketplace so that Allah Ta’ala may record for him one great virtue for each aayah that he recites?”

Note: The Muhadditheen have written that each Aayah that one recites will earn one the reward of one great virtue. This virtue is over and above the ten rewards he receives for reciting each letter of the Qur’aan Majeed as is recorded in the Ahaadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). It should be borne in mind that the reward one receives for reciting any letter of the Qur’aan Majeed is ten rewards when one recites without wudhu. If one recites with wudhu, the rewards are multiplied further.
