Aadaab of Business and Dealings – Part 6

1. If the debtor is in financial constraints and difficulty, the creditor should not harass him, rather he should take pity on his condition and grant him respite in settling his debts.

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: من أنظر معسرا، أو وضع له، أظله الله يوم القيامة تحت ظل عرشه يوم لا ظل إلا ظله. (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 1306)

Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever grants respite to a poor person (in settling his debts) or waives off his debt, Allah Ta’ala will grant him shade in the shade of His Arsh on the day of Qiyaamah, on that day wherein there will be no shade besides His shade.
