Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed bin Abi Fadhaalah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that he heard Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying: “When Allah Ta’ala will gather the former and the latter people on the day of Qiyaamah, the day there is no doubt regarding its occurrence, a caller will announce, ‘Whosoever carried out any action (in the world) for the sake and pleasure of someone besides Allah Ta’ala, he should go to him and seek his reward from him, for certainly Allah Ta’ala is the most independent from all partners (that one ascribes in his actions) (i.e. when one ascribes partners with Allah Ta’ala in an action, then Allah Ta’ala does not accept the action at all, instead on the day of Qiyaamah Allah Ta’ala will hand over the person to all those people for whose sake he had done the action, and he will be told that there is no reward for you from Allah Ta’ala instead you should go and receive your reward from those people for whose sake you did the action).’”

More Feared than Dajjaal https://ihyaauddeen.co.za/?p=7689 Tue, 31 Mar 2015 04:40:57 +0000 http://ihyaauddeen.co.za/?p=7689 عن ربيح بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي سعيد الخدري عن أبيه عن جده قال خرج علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم ونحن نتذاكر المسيح الدجال فقال ألا أخبركم بما هو أخوف عليكم عندي من المسيح الدجال فقلنا بلى يا رسول الله فقال الشرك الخفي أن يقوم الرجل فيصلي فيزين صلاته لما يرى من نظر رجل رواه ابن ماجه والبيهقي ربيح بضم الراء وفتح الباء الموحدة بعدها ياء آخر الحروف وحاء مهملة (الترغيب والترهيب 1/81)

Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that on one occasion Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) came to us while we were discussing Dajjaal. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Should I not inform you of what I fear more over you than Dajjaal?” The Sahaabah (Radhiallahu Anhum) replied: “Definitely, do inform us, O Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).” Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied: “The hidden shirk wherein a person performs salaah and beautifies his salaah and performs it properly, and he only does so because he sees that someone is watching him (i.e. he only beautifies his salaah to show off to the person how pious he is).”

Hadhrat Shaddaad bin Aus (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that he heard Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) say: “The one who fasts for show has ascribed partners with Allah Ta’ala (in the ibaadat of fasting). The one who performs salaah for show has ascribed partners with Allah Ta’ala (in the ibaadat of salaah). The one who gives wealth in charity for show has ascribed partners with Allah Ta’ala (in the ibaadat of charity).

Note: Though one will not come out of the fold of Islam through such sins, however due to carrying out this ibaadat without sincerity, the ibaadat will be rejected as it is not done only for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala, but also to earn public praise.

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who performs salaah properly in public (i.e. fulfilling all the postures correctly), and when performing salaah in seclusion he does not carry out the salaah correctly, then such a conduct shows that one has taken the salaah very lightly (and has not valued the salaah), and he has displayed an uncaring attitude when dealing with his Rabb.

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “At the end of time (close to Qiyaamah) such men will make an appearance who will seek the dunya through actions of the Aakhirah. They will wear woolen clothing for show in trying to express their piety and abstinence of the world before people. Their tongues (their speech) will be sweeter than honey (in their approach and in trying to sway people towards them), and their hearts will be like the hearts of wolves (in the love of the world and in harbouring evil towards the pious). Allah Ta’ala will say: “Are they being deceived (in thinking that they will not receive my punishment) on account of Me granting them respite, or are they being bold through opposing Me (and deceiving my servants with their external piety)? I take a qasm upon My Being, I will inflict upon them (such a punishment in the form of) trials, which will cause the wise and learned amongst them to become confused and bewildered.

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that on one occasion I said to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam): “O Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), inform me regarding fighting in Jihaad. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied: “O Abdullah bin Amr, if you fight in the path of Allah Ta’ala while observing steadfastness and perseverance (against the enemy, remaining firm on the battlefield) and with the hope of earning reward from Allah Ta’ala (i.e. you fight with complete ikhlaas and for the upliftment of Deen and you pass away in that condition),  Allah Ta’ala will resurrect you (from your grave on the day of Qiyaamah) in the same manner  with perseverance and the desire of earning the rewards of the Aakhirah. If you fight in Jihaad with the intention of showing off (your bravery) and acquiring the wealth of the world (i.e. your intention is not for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala and the upliftment of Deen, instead it is only for the sake of acquiring wealth and you pass away in that condition), Allah Ta’ala will resurrect you (from your grave on the day of Qiyaamah) in the same manner while possessing riyaa within your heart and craving for the wealth of the world. O Abdullah bin Amr, (understand well,) in whichever condition you fight or are killed, Allah Ta’ala will resurrect you in that condition.
